{"id":930,"date":"2021-01-28T06:56:35","date_gmt":"2021-01-28T06:56:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ieltsnpte.com\/updates\/?p=930"},"modified":"2023-02-28T08:28:13","modified_gmt":"2023-02-28T08:28:13","slug":"%f0%9f%94%b4-temporary-graduate-visa-subclass-485second-post-study-work-stream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ieltsnpte.com\/updates\/%f0%9f%94%b4-temporary-graduate-visa-subclass-485second-post-study-work-stream\/","title":{"rendered":"\ud83d\udd34\u00a0Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485),Second Post-Study Work stream"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) in the extended Workrights is officially open for application from, 1 July 2023.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I am writing to draw your attention to the below announcement made by Minister for Education Jason Clare MP and Minister for Home Affairs Clare O\u2019Neil MP, regarding addressing skills shortages in key industries and rebuilding the international education sector in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/minister.homeaffairs.gov.au\/ClareONeil\/Pages\/addressing-skills-shortages-in-key-industries-international-education-sector.aspx\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/minister.homeaffairs.gov.au\/ClareONeil\/Pages\/addressing-skills-shortages-in-key-industries-international-education-sector.aspx&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1677651147728000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0q-laLhExqmDBOieuZ0caj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Addressing skills shortages in key industries and rebuilding the international education sector (homeaffairs.gov.au)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Government has today released the indicative<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.education.gov.au\/extended-poststudy-work-rights-international-graduates\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.education.gov.au\/extended-poststudy-work-rights-international-graduates&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1677651147728000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3vqfIC5-g9vEAD-iLCopMF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">list of occupations and the eligible qualifications<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">that will enable graduates to access greater work rights. These extended work rights come into effect from 1 July 2023. Current settings will be increased by two years. This will extend post-study work rights from<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">two years to four years<\/span> for select Bachelor&#8217;s degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">three years to five years<\/span> for select Masters&#8217;s degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">four years to six years<\/span> for all Doctoral degrees.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eligible graduates with a valid Temporary Graduate Visa on 1 July 2023 or who apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa after 1 July 2023, will be considered for the two-year extension. Graduates whose visa expires before 1 July 2023 can apply for an extension<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">of their work rights by visiting<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/getting-a-visa\/visa-listing\/temporary-activity-408\/australian-government-endorsed-events-covid-19\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/getting-a-visa\/visa-listing\/temporary-activity-408\/australian-government-endorsed-events-covid-19&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1677651147728000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1sjKXL-oJlzo9XMI0dP-l3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) Australian Government endorsed events (COVID-19 Pandemic event).<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In addition, the Government will increase the allowable work hours cap from 40 hours per fortnight to 48 hours per fortnight. This modest increase will help students to support themselves financially, gain valuable work experience and contribute to Australia\u2019s workforce needs while they study. The cap will take effect from 1 July 2023. More information on student visa work hours is available on the<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/getting-a-visa\/visa-listing\/student-500\/temporary-relaxation-of-working-hours-for-student-visa-holders\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/getting-a-visa\/visa-listing\/student-500\/temporary-relaxation-of-working-hours-for-student-visa-holders&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1677651147728000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3nl2VrYYKXEhzajUlVHMOp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Home Affairs website.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 500;\"><b><strong>How to Apply for Subclass 485?<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Applications can be made online at the Department of Home Affairs. Have all your documents ready to complete the application and payment to ensure your visa application is valid.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b><strong>Estimated fees and processing time<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The cost of applying for the temporary graduate visa (subclass 485) starts from <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">AUD $1680.00.<\/span> and the Second Post-Study Work stream starts from <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">AUD $660.00<\/span>.
