Entry Requirements for Indian Students

  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs, or VET-HE packaged programs, are not eligible for offshore applications from India.

Academic Requirements

For Year 12 Graduates

If you completed your Year 12 in 2024 or later, you must meet the following criteria:
  • A minimum of 70% overall in your 12th year.
  • Only Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results are accepted. State board results (e.g., Punjab State Education Board, Board of School Education, Haryana) are not accepted.
  • The calculation is based on your 4 best academic subjects.
  • An overall First Division result in a relevant or logical stream is required.
  • Exclusions: local languages, work experience, physical education, and other non-academic subjects are not considered.

For Bachelor Graduates

If you have already completed a bachelor’s degree, the requirements are:
  • A minimum of 65% overall in your degree.
  • The degree must be equivalent to AQF Level 7.
  • The stream of study should be relevant or logical to the course you are applying for.
  • Partial studies are not accepted.

English Language Requirements

To ensure you can successfully engage with academic content, Melbourne Polytechnic requires one of the following English proficiency tests:
  • IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
  • PTE Academic: For tests taken before 7 August 2025: Overall 58, no band less than 50. For tests taken from 7 August 2025: Overall 55, with minimum sub-scores of Listening 47, Reading 48, Speaking 54, Writing 51.
