Things to Know Before Applying

Although it is possible to convert your Visitor visa to a student visa in Australia, it can be a tricky task to accomplish all by yourself. You’d need an education consultant to enhance your chances of a successful conversion.

Its best practice to have a CoE from an accredited university before applying for a student visa. There won’t be very many universities willing to provide you with the Confirmation. It would be the same as for the choice of degrees, you’ll need to ensure it’s a full-time CRICOS-registered course.

Have a look at the criteria to be met before applying-

  • A visitor visa shouldn’t have 8503 conditions. i.e. “no further stay”
  • You need strong reasons to return to your home country upon graduation
  • The course you want to pursue needs to be related to your previously acquired education
  • There need to be strong reasons not to study the proposed course in your home country
  • The chosen course should ensure future employment
  • You’ll need Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE)
