Graduate Temporary Australia Visa Subclass 485 allow the holder the right to travel, stay, study, and work in Australia on a temporary basis.

There is a big change from 18th December 2020 that encourage international students to Study in regional Australia on a student visa and to continue living in regional Australia on a temporary graduate visa.

Main change in Australia Visa Subclass 485:

Student will able to submit 2nd visa 485 from Jan 2021 with 1 year and 2 years duration. Conditions as below

Conditions of visa 2nd 485 with

A > 2 years duration:

1. Currently holding visa 485 (post graduate stream) for 1st time
2. Graduated from Regional center or other regional area
3. Live, work and study in Regional center or other regional area 2 years while holding the 1st visa 485
4. Regional center or other regional area: all area except Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, Wollongong/Illawarra, Canberra, Geelong, Hobart.

B > 1 year duration:

1. Currently holding visa 485 (post graduate stream) for 1st time
2. Graduated from designated city or major regional area
3. Live, work and study in designated city or major regional area while holding the 1st visa 485

*** Make technical amendments to clarify the operation of a concession inserted by the Migration Amendment (COVID-19 Concessions) Regulations 2020 to allow applications for Subclass 485 (Temporary Graduate) visas to be made from outside Australia during the concession period associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

A > Who will the visa applied for?

• Main applicant and Dependent who already living in Australia (Onshore)
• No requirement for English and Police check

B> When can I submit the 2nd visa 485?

From 20/01/2021and only affective when the 1st visa 485 expired

C>  Visa Fee:
  • Main applicant: $650
  • Dependent over 18 years old: $325
  • Dependent under 18 years old: $165
D> Visa maintain requirement for Main Applicant and Dependent:

•  Have to live at regional center or other regional area for 2 years duration

• Have to live at designated city or major regional area for 1 year  duration
