Here are some compulsory documents that you need to show them (and/or Australia’s Department of Home Affairs, where relevant) before applying for a visa or enrolling your kids into the school:

  • personal details with emergency contact details
  • a certified copy of their birth certificate and passport
  • Arrangements of accommodation and welfare
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Medical with immunization history and health information
  • GTE – genuine temporary entrant statement (declaring that your child is genuinely coming to study in Australia and that they will comply with their visa)

Visa grant period

  • Generally, the maximum period for a Student visa grant is six years.
  • In circumstances where a student packages primary and high school study, a visa will still be granted for up to six years, providing that the primary school component of the package does not exceed two years.
Students under the age of 18 years need to meet the following requirements in order to be eligible:
  1. Firstly, the students need to get their visa application with the permission of their parents or guardian.
  2. In case of absence of their parents, students can provide a statutory declaration letter, allowing them to travel to Australia to study.
  3. Students can submit a copy of Australia Form 1229.
  4. Students have to stay with their parents or guardian during their studies in Australia. Apart from parents, the students can stay with other relative members (more than 21 years of age) who are nominated by the parents.
