2. Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Academic Practice (GradCertHEd)
Four subjects are offered in this course.
Course Learning Outcomes:
After this course graduates will be able to:
- Apply an advanced, systematic, and coherent body of knowledge of good practice in independent higher education providers and universities, with cognitive skills to understand the quantitative and qualitative aspects of effective academic practice.
- Critically review, analyze, consolidate and synthesize relevant academic practice information for effective decision-making and to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems and challenges.
- Apply specialized technical and creative skills to teach within a complex and multi-faceted higher education provider and monitor the achievement of stakeholder performance targets and outcomes.
- Communicate complex knowledge, concepts, ideas, and skills clearly and succinctly including through the full range of communication media.
- Demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills in relation to complex and diverse academic practice issues through initiating, planning, implementing, and evaluating based on informed judgments.
- Demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills with responsibility and accountability for personal performance outcomes and the overall performance outcomes of relevant stakeholders.

3. CERTIFIED COURSE REVIEWER
Over five weeks, participants are guided through five modules created to help develop best practices in Course and Assessment Review.
Course Learning Outcomes:
On completing the course participants will be able to:
- Evaluate the alignment of assessments and activities with subject/unit learning outcomes.
- Critically assess the design of similar courses or subjects/units.
- Evaluate the quality of a course or subject/unit design.
- Recommend evidence-based improvements to a course or subject/unit design

Course cost:
The fee for the Course is $1,375 ($1,250 +GST) payable upon registration.
Eligibility:
There are no specific eligibility requirements to undertake this course it is highly recommended that participants will have a strong background in higher education learning and teaching.
Course Admission Requirements:
All above 3 courses’ admission requirements are:
Applicants for this course must provide evidence that they hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in any discipline (subject to verification).
Applicants who don’t have the highest qualification in English must provide English equivalency evidence of one of the following:
- Academic IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall, with no band lower than 6.0; OR
- IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): Overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 a with writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR
- PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with writing and speaking section minimum of 50; OR
- English For Academic Purposes Level 2 (EAP 2): Upper Intermediate ‘A’ grade or higher with IELTS 6.5 requirement.
